About
Sophia Frances is an actress, writer, and filmmaker. Born and raised in the center of southern New Jersey, Sophia is equal parts Philly and Jersey Shore. In the fifth grade, she started performing in community theaters all over the area
In May of 2024, Sophia graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in theater. In addition, she also studied screenwriting and filmmaking.
As an actress, Sophia has had the privilege of working on over ten short films. She has appeared on television in Amazon Prime’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and Investigation Discovery’s Murder Under The Friday Night Lights. Sophia has always had her heart in the theater. Some of her favorite roles include Susanna Walcott in The Crucible and Hero Much Ado About Nothing. She is a proud member of the Actors Equity Association.
As a writer, Sophia believes that at the root of any story worth telling is love. In October 2024, two one acts she wrote were workshopped and staged as part of Ferrell Studio’s One-Act Festival.
In her free time, you can find Sophia on long walks around Central Park, watching rom-coms or Law & Order: SVU, or thrifting a new outfit.
